The tungsten lamp was burning nearly 130 years Thomas Alva Edison turned the tungsten lamp on for the public 31.12.1879. The European commission decided to turn off the tungsten lamp 18.3.2009. We do thank Mr. Edison for this 130 years. The first tungsten lamp was turned on in Finland 1882 in a textile company. Now new techonologies are turning around the markets, and LED has become part of everyday lightning. New technologies are always a challenge for the measurement industry. Mitaten Finland has been following very intensively the industry with its passionate suppliers to meet the highest inquiry levels.
